Song for the Winter Moon
- Composer
- Walter Cummings
Creating sound images of a brilliant rising full moon, the composer has here created a lasting masterpiece for young band. Dark ropes of sound intertwine, rise, and stretch in this unique, very expressive modal composition. All instruments are given the chance to contribute melodically within the contrapuntal fabric. This classic young band composition has enjoyed many international performances, has a prominent place on many state festival lists, and is recommended in"Teaching Music Through Performance in Beginning Band" (Dvorak-GIA)
