Ponderosa
- Composer
- Richard E. Brown
The title for this Western flavored overture comes from the ponderosa pine, a large conifer that is native to the mountains of the western United States. The music stirringly portrays the wild and rugged landscape that is home to these majestic trees. Loosely based on the classic sonata-allegro form, Ponderosa utilizes a variety of musical moods and styles to create an engaging musical tableux.
