With Skies Parted
- Composer
- Brian Drake
Rays of sun dancing through a cloudy sky are beautifully painted in sound by this gifted new writer in the Grand Mesa catalog. Composer Drake skillfully presents his main theme in different guises throughout the work, like clouds changing shape. Solos in oboe (always cued), euphonium, trumpet, and flutes provide spotlight moments on individual players as the work unfolds as a calm yet joyful expression of emotion.
