Vision: On an Irish Hymn Tune
- Composer
- Clifton Jones
Written in memory of the composer's grandfather, this work is based on the old Irish melody "Slane" (also the hymn tune for "Be Thou My Vision"). The work is a set of free-flowing variations, many exhibiting a dance-like quality. Though written over a long period of time, the work exudes a spontaneous quality, as well as tremendous imagination and compositional craft.
