Roaring River Overture

This masterful work for young band begins with a snapshot in sound of the early, pristine land of North America. The rivers ran freely: some tranquil and silent, while others fast and roaring. Immediately following the impressionistic opening of the piece, featuring alto saxophone, flute, trumpet, and percussion instruments, the full band enters with robust variations of the theme already introduced. The music follows the river's course, carrying the listener on an adventurous journey to an exciting conclusion.
